Janet Foy, Wellington, FL, is an FEI 5* Dressage and Young Horse judge, a USEF S Dressage judge, and a USEF R Sport Horse Breeding judge. She is a USDF L Education Program faculty member; a USEF Dressage Committee member; and a member of the USDF Judges and L Program Committees. She is the author of Dressage for the Not-So-Perfect Horse and Dressage Questions and Answers.

USDF President George Williams joins us to wrap up the 2017 Adequan®/ USDF Convention and we have an interview from our archives with Laura Graves.
Laura Graves, Geneva, FL, and Verdades earned an individual silver medal and team gold medal at the Pan American Games. They also were members of the bronze medal-winning U.S. Dressage Team at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Verdades, owned and ridden by Laura Graves, was named 2017 Adequan®/USDF Grand Prix Horse of the Year. Verdades' median score of 79.940 percent made him the top horse in the United States competing at this level.
George Williams, Wellington, FL, has served as the USDF President since 2010. He is also a competitor, trainer, and clinician. He is a USEF Youth Coach and serves on multiple USEF committees.

Adult Amateur -Taryn Anderson joins us to share her US Dressage Finals experience and in our education segment, USEF Senior Dressage Judge and L Program Faculty member Kathy Rowse focuses on the simple change of lead.
Taryn Anderson, Erie, CO, successfully qualified to represent Region 5 at the US Dressage Finals presented by Adequan® with both of her mounts. Aboard her nine-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding, Romulus, Anderson claimed the First Level Freestyle Adult Amateur Championship with 72.556%. Her second ride aboard her mother Tammy Anderson's 10-year-old Oldenburg mare, Addison, earned 70.011% to win the Third Level Freestyle Adult Amateur Championship.
Kathy Rowse, Suffolk, VA, owns and operates Silverleaf Farm with her husband Mike. Kathy is a USEF “S” Dressage Judge, USDF L Program faculty member, and member of the USEF Youth Committee. She is a USDF Gold, Silver, and Bronze medalist who has coached numerous students to their USDF medals.

USDF Region 2 Director Ken Levy joins us to talk about the annual convention coming to Lexington Kentucky. Get a preview of the business meetings and a preview of the education sessions that will be available to all attendees.
Ken Levy, Noblesville, IN. is a USEF “r” judge, USDF Certified Instructor, and FEI competitor. Ken is the USDF Region 2 Director,and past President of Indiana Dressage Society.
Eileen Phethean is Kentucky Equine Research’s Chief Operating Officer. She received her B.S. in animal science and her MBA from the University of Kentucky. She has enjoyed a lifelong association with horses and earned her A rating with the United States Pony Club.
Hallye Griffin, Managing Director of Dressage for US Equestrian, attended Transylvania University in Lexington, KY., and majored in Political Science. Hallye grew up riding in the United States Pony Club and competing in the discipline of Eventing.

Chair of the USEF Dressage Sport Committee Rules Working Group, Janine Malone joins us to discuss the proposed rule changes that could affect dressage riders and judges and 2018 Adequan®/USDF FEI-Level Trainers Conference presenter Johann Hinnemann shares his theory on training.
Johann Hinnemann is recognized worldwide as a trainer and coach, having served as Canada's team trainer and German National Coach, alongside Klaus Balkenhol. His student roster reads like a "Who's Who" of Olympic medalists and various national champions, including Steffen Peters, Coby van Baalen, Marlies van Baalen, Ulla Salzgeber, and Heiki Kemmer.
Janine Malone, Zebulon, NC, is a USEF Registered Dressage Judge and Technical Delegate, FEI Level 3 Steward, and member of multiple committees, including the USDF Sport Horse Committee, the USEF Licensed Officials Task Force and Competition Management Committees.

Lisa Gorretta, Chagrin Falls, OH, serves as the USDF Vice President, she is also a USEF ‘R’ Technical Delegate, FEI Level 2 Steward and Co-Chair of the USEF Dressage Committee.
Hillary Clayton BVMS, PHD, DACVSMR, MRCVS, Mason, MI, is an equestrian, veterinarian, author, researcher, and clinician, Dr. Clayton has conducted targeted studies on bitting, saddle fit biometrics, kinematics and kinetics, and locomotion . She established Sport Horse Science, LLC. and is vice president of the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Clayton has been inducted into the International Equine Veterinarians Hall of Fame, the Saskatoon Sports Hall of Fame and the Midwest Dressage Association Hall of Fame. As a rider, Dr. Clayton has earned her USDF Bronze, Silver and Gold Medals.

This week retired FEI 5* and USEF "S"Dressage Judge Axel Steiner joins us to expand on his upcoming USDF Connection article on National vs. International Judging. We have an excerpt from the 2016 Competition Open Forum and part three of the series on rider biomechanics with Dr. Hilary Clayton.
Axel Steiner, San Marcos, CA, is a retired FEI 5 * and USEF "S" dressage judge. Axel has judged at Olympic Games, Pan American Games, FEI World Cup Dressage Finals, and numerous other championships. He is also an L Education Program Faculty member and popular commentator for high-level competitions.
