USDF Episode 129: Steps to Straightness/Navicular Syndrome

This week, USEF Senior ("S") Dressage Judge Sandy Osborn explains the term "straightness" and how dressage riders achieve it using exercises such as shoulder-in and shoulder-fore. In Vet Connections, Hagyard Equine Medical Institute Veterinarian Dr. Courtney Wittich joins us to talk about the diagnosis and treatment of navicular syndrome.

Sandy Osborn, Porterdale, GA, is a USEF Senior ("S") Dressage Judge and USDF Gold and Silver Medalist. She currently trains out of Ashland Farm, Covington, GA

Dr. Courtney Wittich, MS,DVM, Lexington, KY, received her DVM from The Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. After graduating, Courtney completed a 15-month Sport Horse internship at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Lexington, KY. In 2014, she returned to Hagyard Equine Medical Institute, working in Lexington and Wellington for the Sport Horse Department.
